Since the Swiss has been taken 'under the wing' of the RVCC, the RVCC & BCC have now created 'Official Guidance' for Breeders & Judges for the Swiss as follows. This is to be handed to the show secretary so that they can place it in the judges book

New Varieties : Guidance for Breeders & Judges

Swiss

A Coated Cavy with a medium length coat that stands erect with a plush texture. The hair must be thick and regular all over the body of the cavy; the length is +-6cm, and soft & plush and yet firm. The hairs on the stomach are curled. Swiss can be shown in any colour or combination of colours

Below is something I personally have written as Guidance for judges for the SATIN Swiss, the Lunkarya &  the Curly . They are not in any way approved by or connected to the RVCC or the BCC. They are purely my own views as to what I personally am aiming for and would use to give to judges to explain my aims in the breeds

Satin Swiss

A Satinized Coated Cavy with the qualities of a normal Swiss but with a satinised softer coat. The satin aspect of the coat should be comparable with a short coated satin. The coat should have a plush, soft texture. Hair must be thick and regular all over the body of the cavy; the length is +-6cm, and should still be firm and not part or fall on any part of the body. Can be shown in any colour

Lunkarya

A longhaired cavy in the Peruvian model to have all the qualities of the Peruvian with the exceptions of the coat which should be as harsh as possible. The coat is curly in a ringletted fashion (not crimped) and the curl should not be groomed out. A young Lunkarya may have a softer coat than an adult and this should be taken into account. The Lunkarya should be shown presented on a board

The Curly

The Curly is a coated breed with a harsh and curly (not crimped) coat which measures +/- 6cm in length. A young Curly can have a softer coat but this will harshen with age. The Curly has 2 rump rosettes pushing the coat forward and the hair lies roughly in this direction. The Coat should be very full and dense. The Belly should be curled
